How to Press Tofu

When I first started eating a plant-based diet I tried, failing many many times, to cook with tofu. Most of my attempts ended up in what looked like a mess of mashed up bean curd, not the firm cubes that I saw in photos of recipes. I didn't realize that I couldn't treat the tofu like a piece of chicken. After some research I quickly realized that I was doing everything wrong.

What finally saved the day? This video on how to press tofu. It changed my life. Perhaps it will change yours (or a least help your tofu recipes not look like a messy version of scrambled egg stew).

  1. Pressing tofu is very important and greatly improves the taste and flavor absorption. I use the EZ Tofu Press, works in 10-15 minutes. If you like tofu, you should look into one. you can see what it is at www.eztofupress.com
