It’s the Vegan Skincare Goodie Box Giveaway month and to start things off I want to introduce one of our highlighted beauty gurus Jean, from Bespoke Therapies and Skincare. She is a Clinical Aromatherapist who started experimenting with natural skincare when she realized that everything she thought was natural wasn't so much.

Her 100% vegan line SKINVELOP uses Alove Vera for cell renewal, Coconut Oil for essential fatty acids, Argan Oil for anti-aging...the list goes on and on.

Jean just made a special batch of her essentials for the giveaway, which means you are only getting the freshest, most lovely products directly from the UK. Stay tuned on Wednesday for instructions about how to enter the giveaway.

Meanwhile she shares some of her tried and true secrets for incorporating essential oils into homemade skincare, as well as a blueprint about her favorite oils. She even shares her secret recipe for a divine detox scrub.

If you love the idea of essential oils in your skincare send Jean some love on Facebook and check out her website for her divine products.

How to Incorporate Essential Oils into Homemade Skincare

After a long tiring day I love sinking into a deep bath filled with my favourite blend of essential oils. The heavenly scent of patchouli, rose geranium and lavender does it every time, and I emerge a much calmer, more relaxed person.
These amazing oils don’t just smell good..they do you good! But be warned they are highly potent and are often referred to as the very soul of the plant, so should always be used with care and caution.
EO’s (essential oils) can be used to treat many physical and emotional problems and help get your body back into a more balanced state of wellbeing.
If you choose to visit a clinical aromatherapist he or she will talk with you in depth during your consultation, about you and your lifestyle, to try and establish what type of person you are and from the information, they will tailor a program and blend to suit both you and your specific needs.
Massage is the most obvious choice when you think of aromatherapy, however there are many ways to get these amazing precious oils into your body, including diffusion and inhalation. Good quality skincare will contain essential oils in preference to cheaper synthetic fragrances, this is because of the ‘Holistic’ benefits and is an easy way for the individual to incorporate aromatherapy into their daily routine.
A good example of therapeutic natural skincare containing EO’s, is a unique blend that will help to break down cellulite or water retention, by means of detoxifying the body.
A typical  detox cream or lotion would contain a base oil like pumpkin seed oil (used to help firm the skin) and a blend of grapefruit, geranium, cypress and patchouli, to work on the lymphatic system and help eliminate toxins from the body. Drinking water is always advised afterwards to flush toxin build up and help maintain good liver and kidney function.
Detoxifying Body scrub

1 cup Espom salts
1 tablespoon of vegetable glycerine
1 tablespoon of base oil ie coconut oil or sunflower
3 drops of lemon EO
3 drops of cypress EO
3 drops of geranium EO

Combine all the ingredients together and massage into thighs, buttocks, tummy and upper arms in circular movements, before bathing or showering (be careful not to slip)
Use this blend daily and drink plenty of water, to help speed up the release of toxins by means of natural release.
** If pregnant, please leave out the essential oils.

  3. Excellent post, I am also a lover of essential oils. I do a facial steaming with a few drops of tea tree oil for any breakout problems or acne as the tea tree oil kills bacteria that cause it. For anti-aging and keeping a great looking, youthful complexion I love Sea Buckthorn berry oil. Thanks for the post!
